Audre Lorde Library
Dedicated in honor of Audre Lorde—Black lesbian writer, activist, mother, and poet. Lorde’s lifelong advocacy for visibility and liberation inspires us to provide a space where knowledge and resources empower our LGBTQ+ community and allies. Our library houses over 1,500 books (and growing!) available for checkout for 2 months at a time. Books are donated from community members and The Lynx located downtown.

We have literature for youth and YA fiction and nonfiction, physical and mental health (including transitioning and transgender health), the LGBTQ+ spectrum, activism, aging, arts and photography, autobiography, coming out, disabilities, neurodivergence, family, poetry, religion and spirituality, sex education, sports, and vocational research. Queer Exchange

Rainbow Resilience
An LGBTQ+ mental health group for adults. It isn’t therapy, but it’s led by Ezra Stone, LCSW. It meets at the Pride Center on the 3rd Saturday every month from 1-2:30pm.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida - Alachua County
A safe after-school environment for every young person to belong and build their own great future. Provides safe spaces for young people ages 6 to 18 every week.

Camp Silver
A “safe haven” in North Central Florida, providing an experience designed for transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive youth and families. They offer a range of experiences, activities, and workshops that promote personal growth, artistic expression, and leadership development. Gainesville Pride Student Meet-ups
For middle-school and high-school students to socialize and have a free dinner. We meet on the fourth Friday of each month from 6-8pm at the Pride Center. Parents are welcome to stay, there is a separate room for you.
Partnership for Strong Families
Designed to protect local children from abuse, neglect, and abandonment, and establishes safe and permanent homes for them with their families, partner families, or adoptive parents. They also recruit LGBTQ+ individuals and couples to assist.
PFLAG – Gainesville
National organization that advocates for LGBTQ+ people and supports and educates those who love them. For those who don’t live near a chapter, check their Facebook for info on their online meetings.
The Gainesville chapter meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7 pm at the Pride Center.

Queering Family GNV
For queer parents/caregivers who live in Gainesville and surrounding areas. Not for straight parents of queer kids (see PFLAG above). The group seeks to be as anti-oppressive as possible and honors all family structures, no matter genders, configurations, histories, and paths to parenthood.
Theatre Connect
Hosts Teen Troupe, a theater group for LGBTQ+ teens and allies ages 12 to 17, in partnership with Gainesville Community Counseling Center. Sessions are conducted by experienced theatre practitioners and licensed counselors to create a safe, supportive, and creative experience for all who take part.

Gainesville Queer Sports
For anyone LGBTQ+ who is looking for others to play sports with—any fitness and experience level welcome! They arrange pick-up games for all sports, bodies, identities, and abilities. Follow their Instagram and join their WhatsApp chat for details.
Gainesville Roller Rebels
Gainesville’s roller derby league that aims to empower members to realize their potential both on and off the track, and promote roller derby through athleticism, community, and empowerment. Home bouts are at the MLK Jr Multi-Purpose Center.
