Board of Directors!
Every year, the Pride Center hosts an Annual Membership Meeting to share our accomplishments and goals with the community. We also open the room for community members to speak about anything they would like to bring to the attention of either the Board or our local queer community. Members of the Pride Center will also have the opportunity to vote on applicants for next year’s Board of Directors, so we highly encourage all Pride Center Members to attend!
If you are a member of the Pride Center, you can vote on AND apply to join the Board of Directors! Board members have many responsibilities and often collaborate to put together events. Being a Board Member is hard work, but you’ll be among a group of talented, passionate, welcoming, and positive people that are excited to make Gainesville as diverse and inclusive as possible!
It’s a great opportunity to meet the people who work hard to put together all the fabulous events and amazing resources for everyone to enjoy, as well as to connect with new folks and learn more about what’s happening in town!
The Board of Directors is comprised of multiple committees including Advocacy, Technology, Volunteering, Professional Development, Communications, and so much more! We’ve got a spot for everyone who is interested in making a difference.
Board Members currently meet on the second Tuesday of every month at the Pride Center for our Board Meetings to discuss any events, updates, and plans for the community.
All Board Members are expected to contribute to the planning of the annual Pride Festival that takes place every Fall. The Pride Festival is our biggest event of the year, so we need all hands on deck in order to make each year’s festival bigger and better than the last!
